Finally back from Japan and looks like my #pinephonepro imx258 driver patch series had some discussion around dropping unneeded patches so v6 has now been submitted! Sakari mentioned some more rework might be needed on a few but looks like a lot of the patches are in good shape so hopefully we are a lot closer to better drivers for all! #linuxmobile#pinephone#libcamera
#SailfishOS on the @PINE64#Pinephone and #pinephonepro has an updated kernel and ofono. Please should if it breaks and i can revert the change, but hopefully its better!!
@linmob another fantastic update, thank you! fascinating stuff in that reddit post, i've been considering getting a second hand SDM845 device just to see how it compares to the RK3399S in my PPP that i'm daily driving now. the only issue with that is (to my knowledge) the OP6 line doesn't support display out, which is kind of a dealbreaker for me considering i use the nexdock literally every day. thanks for all you do, your posts don't go unappreciated!
@hamblingreen Thank you! I think some people have experimented with DisplayLink and other similar "connect this to USB and connect a display to it" technologies to solve for this, but if "I`ll connect a display to it and it will be my computer for real" is a use case, there is suddenly a lot less choice. There are a few devices that support this in hardware (Shift 6mq, FairPhone 4 + 5, but mainline support is lacking so far or at least less reliable than on the PPP).
