Adam Bodnar told lawmakers that he found the scale of the surveillance “shocking and depressing.”
“It is sad for me that even in this room I am speaking to people who were victims of this system,” Bodnar told the Sejm, the lower house of parliament.
Bodnar, who is also the justice minister, didn't specify who exactly was subject to surveillance by the spyware. His office said the information was confidential.
Bodnar was presenting information that the prosecutor general's office sent last week to the Sejm and Senate. The data showed that Pegasus was used in the cases of 578 people from 2017 to 2022, and that it was used by three separate government agencies: the Central Anticorruption Bureau, the Military Counterintelligence Service and the Internal Security Agency.
The data show that it was used against six people in 2017; 100 in 2018; 140 in 2019; 161 in 2020; 162 in 2021; and then nine in 2022, when it stopped."
"Bei Einsätzen am 19. und 23. April 2024 stellte die Polizei in zwei Mehrfamilienhäusern in der Johanna-Melzer-Straße und in der Münsterstraße in Dortmund mehrere gestohlene Fahrräder sicher, die derzeit den rechtmäßigen Besitzerinnen und Besitzern nicht zugeordnet werden können.
Dafür gibt es unterschiedliche Gründe, u.a., dass der Diebstahl noch nicht bemerkt oder nicht angezeigt wurde. Auch wenn der Polizei bei einer Diebstahlsanzeige die Rahmennummer nicht angegeben wird, ist eine schnelle Zuordnung eines sichergestellten Fahrrades nicht möglich.
Daher veröffentlicht die Polizei jetzt Fotos der teils hochwertigen Fahrräder. Wer erkennt auf den beigefügten Bildern sein Fahrrad und kann den Besitz durch eine Rechnung, einen Kaufbeleg, einen Fahrradpass, Fotos oder andere Quellen eindeutig nachweisen?
Wir bitten schnellstmöglich - spätestens bis zum 30. Juni 2024 - um Anruf unter Tel. 0231 / 132 7851 (Montag bis Freitag, 8 bis16 Uhr). Die Polizei bittet nur dann unter dieser Rufnummer anzurufen, wenn ein eigenes Rad auf diesen Fotos wiedererkannt wurde - unter dieser Rufnummer werden keine Auskünfte zu anderen Fahrrad-Diebstählen erteilt.
Nach Ablauf der oben genannten Frist übergibt die Polizei die Räder entweder dem Fundbüro oder einer caritativen Fahrradwerkstatt, welche die Räder bei Bedarf aufarbeitet und verkauft.
Die Polizei rät: Sichern Sie Ihre Fahrräder mit hochwertigen Schlössern vor Diebstählen. Schließen Sie Fahrräder nicht nur ab, sondern an einen festen Gegenstand an. Halten Sie Haus- und Kellertüren sowie Garagen verschlossen.
Fotografieren Sie Ihr Fahrrad auch in Details, bewahren Sie Rechnungen und Kaufbelege auf (auch von zusätzlich montiertem Zubehör). Mit diesen Nachweisen kann die Polizei nach Prüfung ein sichergestelltes Fahrrad herausgeben.
Zeigen Sie einen Diebstahl an und bringen dafür alle wichtigen Informationen mit, damit die Polizei bei Datenrecherchen das Rad schnell finden kann, wenn es entdeckt wurde. "
578 osób inwigilowanych nielegalnym oprogramowaniem szpiegującym Pegasus lub podobnym. 578 ofiar, 578 przestępstw, 578 zawiadomień od prokuratury.
Inne osoby – tysiące inwigilowanych co roku przez służby za pomocą legalnych narzędzi – wciąż nie dowiedzą się, że były przedmiotem ich zainteresowania.
Afera z #Pegasus to dobra okazja, żeby to zmienić. Systemowo.

W środę Res Publica Nowa organizuje debatę „Prywatność w cieniu Pegasusa”.
Nie mogło nas tam zabraknąć, szczególnie że planujemy zwrócić uwagę nie tylko na #Pegasus (czyli na bardzo ekskluzywne narzędzie), ale również na szeroki problem braku realnej kontroli nad służbami.
