This week's #Monsterdon movie is CREATURE WITH THE ATOM BRAIN (1955), by a goddamn landslide. It's about a Nazi creating atomic zombies to help a mobster regain power? That actually sounds kind of cool, I wonder how they'll flub it. Long talky scenes? Big slabs of silence? Misogyny? All this and more, I have no doubt.
i realised that in my section checklist for tonight's #monsterdon i accused the makers of this film of story theft and i want to apologise as there was no story so therefore there could be no theft
@twaret Could we consider throwing Pacific Rim into the mix for next week? It's got monsters and action and a few good actors. It's actually a pretty good film.
I think we can all agree that the real hero of the story was the floral centrepiece. It provided the backbone to the plot, and was solid all the way through.
@moira there are some movies that i don't like, and there are movies that don't make sense, but this was a movie that contained so little anything that i have no emotion about it at all #monsterdon
Well, that was a fruitful business trip for our Venusian friend. Travelled all that way on a matter of urgent importance for the solar system, and mostly ended up getting a smooch, a bit of free water, and he's gone.
Genuinely awestruck at the bravery of them to make the spaceship literally just an overhead light fixture. That was... well, I think it was a movie. Goodnight, #monsterdon!
