@MonaApp When I tap a hashtag it opens Safari and shows the hashtag on the origin server. For example, if I should click #MonaApp it will open safari and do a search on this hashtag on the server social.vdheide.net
@Pjol@Doon@MonaApp The whole Mute section of #MonaApp could use a rework, feels like an afterthought to me. Right now it’s just one long list of all muted keywords/hashtags.
Compare that to #Ivory, where keywords/hashtags are listed separately and alphabetised. Makes navigating the lists so effective when you need to alter the settings applied to the muted word/hashtag; changing duration, where the filter applies etc. Currently Mona only allows to change duration.
They released #Mona on the Apple app store yesterday and I thought I'd give it a try but for some reason all the buttons except reply are greyed out (so you can't boost, favorite, bookmark, etc.) and when I tried to send a message to the developers asking about it I was limited to maybe 100 or 200 characters, didn't count them but it was a very small amount. Maybe those are things you only get if you buy the pro version? But if so, that's not the way to induce people to buy the pro version, those things are basic to Mastodon functionality. Anyway I went back to using the web version and the only reason I haven't deleted Mona altogether is that it will let me quickly read through the timeline without showing me toots I have already seen, which is my #1 complaint about web-based Mastodon. But honestly I never paid for a Twitter app, and I am not about to pay for a Mastodon one either. So if you feel the same about not paying for a Mastodon app, you probably should avoid Mona (unless they fix this issue) because the free version is far too limited.
@Lunatech It is of course your choice to pay or not. There are a number of free apps including #IceCubes, a yearly one #Ivory and #MonaApp which is a one payment. ‘You pays your money and take your choice’ as the saying goes 😊
So @MonaApp is out today and immediately takes the crown for most customizable Mastodon client to date. Multiple columns on Mac and iPad, split-screen on iPhone (!), and TONS of settings you can tweak. Insta-purchase for me, with no subscription.
The most versatile and customisable app - Mona for Mastodon is FINALLY out of Beta and available to the general public on the #iOS, #iPadOS and #Mac App Stores. #MonaApp
You can try out the Pro features of @MonaApp FREE on a 14-day trial, after which you can upgrade to one of the many upgrade options available on a one-time payment. NO SUBSCRIPTIONS!
If you’re an existing Spring for Twitter user (by the same developer), there’s a nice discount to upgrade to the Pro Max which activates #MonaApp Pro features on iPad, iPhone and Mac - also supports Family Sharing.
Created some custom themes for Mona? You can share theme links here by replying to this post, so other people can enjoy them as well :)

Here’s one thing I think @MonaApp needs to add to its app. In the home feed, when you’re following a hashtag, it will show you which hashtag made the post show.
@MonaApp
Hey #MonaApp Devs! Since a couple of days I am testing your app and it has already become my favourite #Mastodon app. I will also purchase the Pro+ version soon (currently in testing).
However, I would have a suggestion for the iPad / Mac version. I find the current use of columns a bit confusing as it‘s empty by default and only populated if you select a conversation. How about adding an option to pin a specific view (e.g. mentions) to the columns for permanent view?
