NPCs in the fishing quests in #FFXIV keep calling themselves "friends of fish" and the like, which is odd, because the one thing these people have in common is that they all love to murder fish.
My "Screenshot Dump" folder is so out of control. I need to do some culling BUT I also need to save and rename some so I can find them at a later date.
What I wish #Linux had was a desktop application that could identity objects and expressions in pictures similar to how Google Photos (others are available while stocks last) does.
Because I don't want to upload 2000 images to my Google drive to find the one I'm looking for with a /laugh emote in it.
Any #linux#gamers out there have any luck running #ffxiv? I've tried the xivlauncher flatpak on Mint, and the game runs but I get like 8 fps. Using the exact same hardware as my wife, who runs the game with no issues on Windows.
(I'm content to keep playing on console, but I want to see if I can try to lure her away from Windows. Being able to keep using xivlauncher would likely be non-negotiable for her.)
I was initially using x11, but switching to Wayland doesn't fix the issue. The in-game configuration can't seem to see my graphics card which could be part of it.
#FFXIV#Dawntrail Job Action Trailer
PLD: Giant swords, I'll take it!
SMN: Looks awesome as always. New summon! (Shiva?)
BRD: Kind of underwhelmed, needs a coolness upgrade still
RDM: Ooh pretty!
Pictomancer spell effects look unique and fun!
SCH: Transforming into a fairy form is that new??
BLM: Moved their Leylines but I see yet another gage on screen. Maybe BLM still not for me.
More terrifying than any first-time dungeon: musical performances. And I used to do these IRL, some just with a piano accompaniment - and those were terrifying too.
Apparently fictional audiences bring back that feeling.
But it's done and I hope I don't have to repeat that again. I still remember my hideous performance during the "be a conductor" Starlight event...🙈
Have to say, as much as I'm looking forward to #DawnTrail (starting an Ascian-free story, huzzah), I'm not sure how I feel about a neon-lit street in a fantasy setting.
The Allagans had advanced tech but in the distant past. The Garleans tried to harness it but imploded, due to...leadership issues.
"Solution Nine" is jarringly futuristic, considering my main is into magicks and swords.
Why didn't anyone tell me Variant Dungeons were so fun in #FFXIV !? I'm hooked. This is like the perfect solo content for me since I can never find a group.
