One of the tracks I made for #FAWM 2024. It all came together within an hour. I took a bit more time for the mixdown. The recordings are from Berlin, Lichtenberg. I think the bleak apartment buildings and the industrial vibe really add something special to the track.
The project for #Bitwig will also be available here soon for Premium subscribers.
Hi everyone!! Here’s an extra-special song collaboration between @WrenArcher and myself for #FAWM!
Wren sent me the guitar part and a couple lines of a song idea, and I built those out to a full song. Even across the country, we got to sing together, working so well with the message of the song. We are not alone!
So I've posted quite a bit about the Feb Album Writing Month but because of covid, writer's block, being stuck in my head I haven't been able to submit anything...
until now. Sharing this song that was written last night.
Thank you @caroline for the bit of encouragement. Was able to get one!
It's umm... a bit on the sexy side? Soooo... prolly don't listen at work.
This year's #FAWM is going to be more of a FEPWM (February EP writing month) because of the learning curve with including vocals. Hell, it might end up being FSWM (February Single Writing Month) but so far I'm pretty excited with what I've got.
This year for #FAWM, I'm yet again going to take a different approach. For my first, I focused too much on trying to "complete" songs. I tried to perfectly mix and get everything release ready... that failed miserably.
For my second I just wanted to make video game music using only my Roland MT-32. That did not fail. I quite liked what I was able to do there.
This year... I want to focus on lyrics. Rough out basic loops using basic MIDI instruments, but really focus on vocal centered songs that I can spend the rest of the year turning into an actual album.
I doubt I'll actually record any vocals during February... but I may find some courage.
Next month is February, which means February Album Writing Month! Get ready for 28 days — er, 29 DAYS! — of excuses to sit down with a guitar or a piano, making songs happen out of nowhere...
The wonderful and talented community over at #FAWM ( and 50/90) have inspired me to make the jump to #bandcamp
