Congratulations 🎉 to everyone who participated and voted in the recently concluded @fedora !

Especially to @jonathanspw who got elected for the first time to the steering committee.

And welcome back @decathorpe to FESCo! I'll be there for the first time, and hope to "choose... wisely" quoting the knight from the third Indiana Jones movie

@sashin @fedora They were busy getting actual release done and it's there Nth week already, so I assume it's an after party 😁

fedora,

@vintprox @sashin Yes, the actual release takes a lot of the priority, but then other things came up as well that made planning sooner more difficult.

If you use on cloud, amazon-ec2-utils is headed your way with some helpful udev rules and tools.

Now you can manage block devices using the same "sdX" conventions used in the AWS console and API. 😉

It's on the way to for users, too! 🥳

I wrote a quick post about how to set up amazon-ec2-utils on @fedora and how to see the differences after installing it:

The nomination phase for the Fedora 40 election cycle ends on May 8. Make sure to put your hat in the ring if you're interested.

The seats available are for Council (x2 seats), FESCo (x4 seats), Mindshare (x1 seat) and EPEL (x4 seats).

Our elections are a major way we make sure Fedora stays community oriented!

And now @realkeydb builds are in Bodhi for all supported @fedora versions and EPEL 8/9 and ready for testing.

Good alternative and potential replacement to

@jonathanspw @fedora We have to wait for https://github.com/placeholderkv/placeholderkv to choose a name and get packaged.

jonathanspw,
@jonathanspw@fosstodon.org avatar

@kushal @fedora yep as soon as they have a name and a published release I'll be packing it up too, along with Redict.

If you're using 6 on and want to try out , here's a quick way to switch:

sudo dnf copr enable jonathanspw/keydb && sudo dnf swap redis keydb && sudo systemctl enable --now keydb

Keep in mind that you may need to port over any custom redis config to /etc/keydb and persistent data to /var/lib/keydb.

Thanks @jonathanspw for getting this going!

I'm back on RHEL for all my computers, I'm done messing around with weird inconsistencies and unexpected changes in updates. I love the innovation of upstream and all the wonderful madness of the bazaar, but I don't have time to drink from the fire hose these days.

I'm super grateful for all the exceptional and hard work the RHEL team at Red Hat does and the Fedora EPEL community. ❤️

Love you wonderful humans, stay awesome!

@centos will be hosting an event at SCaLE called CentOS Classroom - a neat opportunity to learn more about the project from contributors. Happening Mar 14 from 2-5pm local time!

At the end there will be a packaging workshop for Fedora EPEL! Check it out if you've wanted to get into packaging but weren't sure how. @carlwgeorge's got your back. 👍
