My impossible dream: That a corporation based in the #DMV would buy the naming rights to #Commanders Field and call it Jack Kent Cooke Stadium. #NFL@nfl
Sources: #Seahawks perennial Pro Bowler and All-Pro LB Bobby Wagner is signing with the #Commanders on a 1-year deal worth a max value of $8.5M, a deal that includes $6M in guarantees.
Dan Quinn was with Wagner a decade ago in Seattle, now they’re back. A splash for Washington.
FedEx Field, no more! FedEx has dropped the naming rights to FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland, home of the Washington Commanders. I guess we just call it "Field" now.
@slessans2 ends in 2026, we get 2 more years of FedUp Field. :)
“The original $205 million agreement for the Landover, Md., stadium, set to conclude in 2026, is ending two years sooner, a Commanders spokesperson confirmed to The Athletic.”
The #Commanders put in a request to interview #Cowboys TEs coach Lunda Wells for their offensive line coach position under Dan Quinn, but Dallas blocked the request, sources say. Wells and DQ worked together for years.
The #Commanders are expected to have their second, in-person interview with #Cowboys DC Dan Quinn early next week, source said. He's currently meeting with the #Seahawks for his second interview there.
I can go either way with this game. CJ Stroud is an amazing story. But as a #Maryland kid, a #Ravens win would be good for the soul. Not to mention Lamar Jackson's MVP caliber season.
@jwhevans
The fact that my 2nd pick in the 2024 NFL draft Washington #Commanders pushed them to overtime tells you everything you need to know about these Iggles.
I'm not rooting for this, not really, but we have a magical opportunity in front of us for Carson Wentz to step in for Stafford, win this game, and have Philadelphia set itself on fire for a week waiting to host Wentz in a playoff game if Stafford can't go and the Eagles win tomorrow night.
@stumblewyk@nfl
Wentz epitomizes everything wrong with the #Redskins / #Commanders organization under Daniel Snyder. I have no desire to ever see him play again.
The Commanders have scored more points in their 5 Super Bowls than either the Chiefs, Giants or the Rams did in their 5. This team used to be hella good #NFL#WashingtonCommanders#Commanders#HTTC@nfl
I am old enough to have watched the Commanders play in all 5 of their Super Bowls. I have the memories of the Riggins run, the second quarter against Denver, Timmy Smith (look it up), both Clark and Monk over 100 yards in the same game. I enjoyed the days when this team was not only good but dominating. It’s been a long time.
Today is the first time in a long time I feel like things are going to be better.
