If you only had one studded tire, would you put it front or back? Does anyone regularly run with just one studded tire?

2. I’ve got an old rear wheel for a 9-speed bike. What would I have to do to use it as a spare wheel for a single speed bike? do I have to rebuild the whole thing because the free hub is too wide to fit in the track dropouts?
@bruceturner I dunno, I'm seeing special tools being used to remove crank arms when ISIS interfaces are involved. (And also videos on how not do have to use the special tools but I don't have a regular puller either? So I'd need to buy something either way I guess?)
After far too much poking around I'm pretty sure this is the crank:
In 15 years of trying to prolong my bikes' drivetrains by cleaning them I have still never understood the conundrum that if you degrease a #bicycle chain you then need to wash the degreaser off with water, and if you then apply lubricant to that chain you are surely trapping water in the links?
Can any cyclists offer advice? I've been lent an electric bike which I think has been damaged in transit (broken mudguard) There an odd noise when I'm cycling which I think is down to this screw under the chain.
Wondering if anyone can tell me what it's for? It seems to be positioned so it will screw straight down onto the chain which is a bit weird. Will it matter if I remove it? 🤔
