Fresh out of a meeting where my boss was pontificatng about the splendours of AI (🙄), my work laptop pinged me a notification about an update to what is essentially a piece of graphics driver management software with particular focus for Gamers.
Nosing around it curiously for a few moments I had to chuckle at the glaring error presented, a reminder that humans err but to really royally fuck something up computers have no equal. In this instance the software mis-identifying Microsoft Office as the game Alien Isolation (based on the Alien film franchise) and dutifully reporting I've been playing this game for over 1500 hours. 😄😄😄 Sterling work, AMD. 👍

Something incredible is happening, I've noticed some substancial increase in framerates in pretty much every game. I managed to find some screenshots of benchmarks I ran earlier and the results are outstanding.

This is definitely a pain point for consumers. I strategically avoided #NVIDIA when looking for my new laptop that is now running #LinuxMint. Why? Driver support is non-existent. The fact that Linus points out that they are the single biggest problem as it relates to hardware manufacturing is not only telling, but a warning to future #Linux users. In other words, buy #AMD or use #IntelGraphics.
