"A horse is a horse of course, of course.
And no one can talk to a horse of course.
That is of course unless the horse is the famous Mr. Ed ..." - Jay Livingston

Many jingles of the 60s pop into my head all the time. Songs from TV shows and commercials. Sometimes I just start singing them out loud, usually when I'm at home. It entertains Ben and Charlie. I don't generally start singing in the middle of Walmart, though that would be funny. Needless to say, I saw the Mr. Ed TV show, before it was just reruns ... Wiillbuuur.

John Wayne takes a break during the filming of ‘The Undefeated’. (1969). Wayne’s biographer Michael Munn chronicled Wayne’s drinking habits. According to Sam O’Steen’s memoir, Cut to the Chase, studio directors knew to shoot Wayne’s scenes before noon, because by afternoon he “was a mean drunk.”

🎧 Prepping a #MavisStaples post and read some on #TheStapleSingers' wiki page. Never knew they recorded #StephenStills' "For What It's Worth" in 1967, same year as #BuffaloSpringfield. Yep. ❤️

One Hundred Years of Solitude - Gabriel Garcia Marquez - 1967 (ia600600.us.archive.org)

MANY YEARS LATER as he faced the firing squad, Colonel Aureliano Buendía was to remember that distant afternoon when his father took him to discover ice. At that time Macondo was a village of twenty adobe houses, built on the bank of a river of clear water that ran along a bed of polished stones, which were white and enormous,...

THE ROLLING STONES
Let It Bleed
1979 Canada reissue

Forever and always my favorite #rollingstones record.

Great opening track, a great closing track, and one of my two personal favorite Stones songs in “You’ve Got The Silver” (the other being “Salt Of The Earth” from Beggars Banquet).

This pressing has a bit of a goofy label.
STONES is actually singular, & the XZAL number at the bottom is upside down & missing a parentheses.
Bang up quality control.
