Of all the things I found in Bronze Town, excepting the ramen that was cooked in rusty water, the train hotels have been my worst experience, yet. This picture is the one I stayed in last night.
The bronzeliner was abandoned 17 years ago when the substation a kilometer closer to downtown blew up and no local understood the analog tech. The green tarnished door placard stated as much, but the android taking my money for my sleeping compartment also told me about the Gold man visiting that week. He had volunteered to fix the boards and coils—and was found murdered the next day. Constables suspected it was by someone on the staff. Probably because fixing it would uncover sabotage.
Nobody was ever prosecuted
The Dull-8002fu recommended that I visit the substation today, that—as being from Gold Town—I might find it interesting. It would be picturesque photographically, more so than an abandoned warehouse. It was a mystery whether the skull on the pole outside the melted ruins was that of the Gold man volunteer or of a former employee.
I think I may have a clue to where Garçon Âmes may have disappeared to all those years ago. After I send this, I'm walking to the substation, despite the misty cold. I've checked the charge on my phone and stunner.
