i don't remember much before being 7-years old but i do remember inviting a friend over for a sleepover and this friend, at the breakfast table with my family, cracked open a can of pepsi and poured it into his bowl of cheerios. my father didn't say anything at the time but after my friend left he said my friend was never allowed to come over again; i knew it had to be the pepsi-cheerios because my friend was otherwise well behaved. this had a profound impact on me.
