I live in the Capitol of Oregon. I love it here, but I have loved every state I've lived in (NC, AR, CA, OR).
Pros: People are kind and friendly. Weather and soils are perfect. One hour to tall mountains, to beaches, to a big city. There are fewer people in this state than in the SF Bay Area. Wildly diverse landscapes. Vast agricultural Willamette Valley. Reliably Blue on the spectrum, but plenty of wing nuts to keep everyone on their toes. Affordable.
Cons: It can be a bit bland.
