May 08 What behaviors does your characters' society discourage?

A ton of things.

  • Homosexuality is punishable by death in most countries (I did NOT make up these rules: Europe/Middle East in the 12th century).
  • Don't contradict the church.
  • Wife, don't contradict your husband (much, it's not quite as bad as 19th century).
  • Child, don't contradict your parents.
  • etc, etc, etc.

I'm so glad I did not live in that time, tbh.

@anderlandbooks but if you were born in the 12th century, you wouldn’t find those rules bad because you would never have known otherwise

@nautilebleu true. My MC doesn't mind either. I did not want to transplant a modern girl into the Middle Ages. Katja is very much ok with that all - although she learns to trust herself more the older she gets.
