i'm sofa king™ sick of eating the same hospital food over and over and over again, but i'm also glad that they've made me yōshoku ＊alllmost＊ every day, so i'm not going to complain (too much 😅)
also: can i not start a "sandwich war" by simply stating that i would be pleased as punch if japanese cooks, once and for all, stopped using KETCHUP in recipes that clearly call for tomato paste…i've eaten more SWEET minestrone than one person can handle in a lifetime! 😝
@mangotable I sometimes resist using paste, or use less than a recipe requires, just because of the annoying multi-packets that come in that box. Feels wasteful, and there don’t seem to be any other companies except kagome who sell it. Cc @scoutie
@kawasemi@mangotable@scoutie I full on agree about ketchup inferiority. The Kagome packs are okay in a pinch and you don't have to measure anything.
For bona fide tomato paste, I'm keeping an eye out and will report back.
(I don't use tomato paste too often except Spanish rice, and I always burn it 😅)
