Shopping during #COVID19 is riskier than you might think. This interesting STUDY is locked behind a paywall, but the abstract is fascinating. It combined credit card data with testing data to track infections when people were in shops together.

This was, of course, the whole point of the privacy preserving contact tracing protocol Apple and Google deviced. But instead of allowing it to run automatically, as it was capable of doing, public health authorities made it into a bureaucratic mess, then shut down because of lack of impact and costs.
Implementations matter. Public health failed us in all aspects.
@augieray@Phil_Tanner I've never stopped wearing a mask in shops. I'll stop when we have a truly preventive vaccine and enough of the population have it.
