All three servers have been used for pushing spam across the Feddiverse. In all cases, I’ve given admins time to moderate and remove spam from their servers, and none of them have taken action. Spam continues to be hosted on those servers, and will likely be used for more spam.
Additionally, admins allow open registrations on their servers. They demonstrate a complete disregard for moderation. I suspect that these are abandoned servers.
@atomicpoet wouldn’t it be time for a ‘quorum system’ of sorts to automatically ban bad instances for all the fediverse, or at least publish a list?
First we should be able to select a couple of hundred reputable, large instances, to act like a parliament.
Then if a significant majority of respected instances’ users report posts, users or an instance itself then such instance will be listed/banned automatically for 30 days or so.
It is time to use decentralization as a defensive asset IMHO.
There’s already blocklists that are shared amongst servers. The problem is that different servers have different standards for what should be on Fediblock.
I, myself, only want to put servers on Fediblock as a last resort.
