How do invitation links interact with these settings?

Do accounts created with an invitation link need approval? Is a captcha displayed during the account creation process when an invitation link is used?

@tcely I know that invitation links bypass closed registrations, but I've never tested how they interact with capcha or approvals.

My expectation is that neither would be bypassed by invitations.

I would be unwilling to turn these features on as long as they both hurt accessibility and increase the workload for administration.

Hopefully, a way to both block spam and delegate approval to the existing instance community is available before the next spam campaign.
