I was born in Keflavík, but only because my father somehow made it with my mother from Grindavik up there, before she popped. Today, that wouldn't be possible, because Lava.
I just hope Max' is OK, one of better bars/restaurants and hotels in the area, and right at the eruption zone.
Fun side note: a few days before I was born, a volcano finally died down on an island south of Iceland. Icelanders spent their days and nights running with buckets from the ocean to the lava, to cool it down. And they won.
