I remember the time Life Hacks were a pretty cool thing you can find on the internet. Than 5 minutes crafts and friends came around like I hurricane and gave Life Hacks the worst wrap possible. We click on clickbaite and that's why we can't have nice things, kids.

Whatever. Give me one actually useful Life Hack you do in your day to dY life. Bonus points of you came up with it yourself.

dan613,

@mayaisloading You can buy extension tube for $20 on Amazon that go from your soap pump directly into your dish soap container. They come with multiple lids to find the right size. They also have check valves to keep the soap from draining back into the jug. That's why you can't just buy the tube. @mayaisloading large binder clips on the side of a desk do really make great makeshift cable holders/organizers

@mayaisloading My wife and I were at the grocery store perusing the bananas when an older lady approached us. “Put them in a plastic bag and they’ll last a lot longer!” We tried it, and she was right. I use one of the produce bags, then saunter over to the meat case and grab one of the slightly thicker meat bags. Our bananas now last about twice as long as they used to.

@adhdeanasl Wait, what??? I have always had the reverse experience, whenever I put bananas in plastic bag and forget to take them as fast as possible they get brown spots in hours. I thought it's from trapping the moisture evaporating form them. I've only used thin nylon bags tho but still. I'm confused.

I was confused about this too.

"You can take advantage of ethylene's ripening properties at home by putting your banana into a closed paper bag; the paper will trap ethylene while letting in enough oxygen to help move the process along... it's important not to use a plastic bag because it won't allow enough oxygen in and can actually inhibit ripening. That's why bananas at the grocery store are often bagged in plastic---to keep them from ripening too soon."

@mayaisloading ooc: idk if this is really a hack, but I decided to treat my business casual work outfit as a uniform. I have six identical copies of the same clothes and I dress myself the same every day like a Simpsons character. I never need to think about my clothes. It's surprisingly liberating.

I did that when I was younger and worked in studios because I literally didn't have the time or brain power to pick out clothes and keep them clean. A bunch of the exact same clothes, all black.

Later when I would wear different clothes with color people would do a double take.

@duran Holy shit, just tried it. Thanks! I knew there is a button combination for taking photos and tried to find it but failed. Then I forgot to ever check it out and whenever I needed it was not a convenient moment to do so.
