@fj This is why I always loved Lessig, among other important things, e.g. his high moral standards, and his actions after Aaron Swartz' death: he is such a great teacher of USA's constitutional law.
@fj yeah but the term was never defined, being used only in this one sentence, and nobody has ever been willing to open that box in court and collapse it one way or the other. McCain was born outside the US and he and Obama had a gentleman’s agreement to not get into a dispute about whether that’s a necessary component of “natural born” ( hence I, born in the Netherlands as an American citizen, also don’t know if I’m natural born)
@0xabad1dea Definitely something that I would like to see being cleared up.
It's a bit ridiculous to suggest that a naturalized citizen would be different than a “natural born" one. It's not equal rights if it depends on your adversary not using it against you ...
