devinprater,

So, this month I want to buy some good Bluetooth earbuds. Ones that won't lag and stuff with Android. I have a Galaxy S20 FE 5G, but I'm not really sure which codecs it really supports. So, which headphones/earbuds, under like $300, are really good, have nice base like the AirPods Pro, and have as little latency as possible?

TalkingDroid,

@devinprater You can't go wrong with Sony. I have the WF1000XM4 and love them.

devinprater,

@TalkingDroid Yeah, after I got LDAC working on my linkbuds S, the latecy seems much better.

VisualStuart,

@devinprater
Boosting for reach, and to see what folks say.

rooktallon,

@devinprater Android 8 supports LDAC including Samsung devices. I'd get Sony if I were you.

devinprater,

@rooktallon Are you sure? I have the LinkBuds S and they only connect via AAC and SBC.

rooktallon,

@devinprater Ahhh, you're looking for earbuds? I'd do some research then because I thought since Sony is the one that made LDAC, they'd put it on all their earbuds.

spaciath,

@devinprater I'd say pixel buds but I'm not sure how well they'd work with your phone. But they're my favorite buds I've ever owned.

devinprater,

@spaciath I've heard they're really laggy with TalkBack.

spaciath,

@devinprater The pixel buds pro aren't at least. I notice hardly any lag at all.

@devinprater I use the Powerbeats Pro with my Android and have zero complaints.

devinprater,

@MsHearthWitch I think I had those before. I liked them, but the tip that goes into my ears hurt my ears a bit. Or the thing that wraps around the back of the ears. Yeah I think that's what it was.

@devinprater Ahh yeah, that's fair. I struggle with having something fully shoved in my ear and staying put so I like the over-ear.

@devinprater It sounds like you're in the market for something a little more upscale, but I've been very satisfied with my Tozo earbuds, which advertise a latency of 45 ms at a price point of $30. You can definitely do better by spending more, but I thought I'd point these out because I was very surprised at the quality to dollar spent ratio.

devinprater,

@seanpatrickphd Wow, I'll have to look them up! Do they require you enable some kind of gaming mode or something?

devinprater,

@seanpatrickphd Which model do you have?

@devinprater I have the $20 Tozo A1 which are in the lower/cheaper tier of their product line. Not sure about the G1 (the $30 gaming version that advertises the low latency) but the A1 is completely plug and play, no gaming mode or anything like that. I'm not super sensitive to latency issues, but I've never noticed any with the A1. The bass is pretty good for earbuds.

krishnajariwala,

@devinprater I like my pixel buds

devinprater,

@krishnajariwala How are they on latency? Like when playing a game or watching video, or using TalkBack if you use that?
