I know you #OpenStreetMap folks are waterway enthusiasts... well, here's a uMap with just over 1300 named waterways that are currently unmapped!!
The locations on the uMap are roughly where the waterway "starts". Some imagery layers that I am finding useful: USGS 3D Elevation, USA/Mexico/Canada/Scandinavia Topo Maps, and standard aerials.
I've been using the changeset hash tag #1337RiverProject to track my work.
