Is anyone using Obsidian to collaborate on notes/wikis with others? Either with Obsidian sync or a something like Syncthing? Looking for a reliable alternative to Notion for a wiki for two persons to collaborate on which uses actual files, works offline, and mostly works with your editor of choice.

#askfedi #obsidian #syncthing #wiki

edafe,

@ggpsv Set this up with a friend for what sounds like exactly the same purpose. We are using #Obsidian and Syncthing.

Would recommend putting in place an additional #Syncthing node that is always online. Configuration on #Linux can be really straightforward using #Debian or Ubuntu.

If I didn't have the hardware in place already, I would probably try a #RaspberryPi 4 with #Ubuntu first.

nuncio,

@edafe @ggpsv
That's what I did. I have an OrangePi 5+ with a 1TB card. 2 Linux computers and my Mac all use SyncThing together, and the OrangePi just sits there archiving it all.
Now I have to find out what Obsidian is.
