hush404,

Oh boy! It's been a weird battle, but I've finally got my #raspberrypi4 running #jellyfin smoothly. I had some trouble with permissions, mounting drives on startup and more. Then when I solved that (thank you various resources online) I had power draw issues from dual external drives connected to the pi. Eventually got it to a point where it got all ironed out and I swapped the dual (2TB) drives for a single 4TB self powered drive and all is well.

@hush404 enjoy the fruits of your labor. Jellyfin is awesome. I've been running it for my family for well over two years now. 🙂

hush404,

@mforester Thanks! Already been giving it a whirl. I've used Plex in the past but liked what I saw in JF (and I love the idea that it's foss).

@hush404 same. I gave Plex a very short spin, but I found the "get Plex Premium" banners everywhere very intrusive. Also, after taking a quick look at what's locked behind the Premium gate, I found that there's nothing I would ever spend money for.
I've heard people say that Jellyfin is missing some features and that might very well be, but so far I haven't found anything that I miss. 🙂
