We have DEC VAX at our company, running as part of our manufacturing process.

At one time or another, we've had every major technology...
AT&T and NCR UNIX, OS/2, NT 3.51, Linux, Windows Server, etc.

We're also operating an IBM z/Series mainframe

Umm still know lots of people who work at Bell Labs and their pay cheques would say differently. Had an R&D team there myself not so long ago.

@arstechnica DEC? Good memories. Worked for them on a local version of DECPresent in the south of France. The tools were fine, the company on the other hand... Too much macromanagement. The "I'm your boss, you're a underling, hence I'm right and you are wrong" kind of mentality.
I'm sure it would be possible nowadays to work with VMS and a Vax station.

There's a real irony that DEC and the VAX was impacted by UNIX, which was primarily developed on and for DECs' PDP-11, the predecessor to the VAX, and arguably the most successful minicomputer ever made.

*Note to writers: not sure where the AP style book comes down on it, but ARM is an acronym for Advanced RISC Machines, and IMHO should always be capitalized.
