@jaztrophysicist ditto. I wish the default in social media (or any written media) were curiosity and not judgement. Asking questions or reporting issues, instead of attack, or suspicion, or blame, or drama. #netiquette
@niavy@jaztrophysicist those don't help when said people consider that you are a troll simply because you have a different opinion from theirs.
I don't know if it's a fundamental limit of online communication or a way of seing the world that is the result of recurrent exposition to trolls in past online communications.
Don't listen to me, I'm no psycho-sociologist.
@niavy@jaztrophysicist in that case I see how smileys provide context. But I was thinking of cases (that happened to me) where I was counter-argumenting and I was considered to be a troll because the other party did not like what I was writing. Maybe I'm just bad at argumenting, I don't know 🙁
@niavy@jaztrophysicist I try to be charitable and consider that people are by default honest. But I can understand that if you have been often exposed to trolls, your expectation that a random person is honest is going to be biased away from honesty.
