@RealJournalism I read a few years ago that we all rely on scientists to sustain the human population now. That was specifically addressing agriculture and food and water supplies. But of course, with the 8+ billion humans now overtaxing the planet and all the pollution we create, it's even truer.

@EarthOne24 We may be seeing peak human population growth. A recent Lancet study found that the worldwide birth rate could drop below 2.2 (the level needed to sustain human population growth) as early as 2030.
@RealJournalism Thanks. Last I looked at the projections -- a few years ago, tho -- growth was supposed to peak at 12 billion. With disastrous global warming , it will be difficult to feed us, among other issues like clean water supplies.😬
