We don't say "congratulations" when someone becomes an open source maintainer.

Instead we say, "Congratulations, thank you, and sorry"

@mariatta I'm due to give a presentation tomorrow about my journey to becoming a Django contributor.

Would you be OK with me using this toot (with or without your name, whatever you prefer) if I can fit it into a slide?

Edit: Or maybe use it in the article instead. I'll have to see where it fits best.

@mahryekuh Yes that would be ok and I would appreciate a linkback to the original toot/my profile, as I've seen example where people redacted my handle/avatar when they use my content. Thank you!

@mariatta That can be arranged! Maybe not the link from a slide specifically, but a mention of your handle for sure (and there will be a link in a blog post).

@mahryekuh awesome! Thanks!

@mariatta At least you get “thank you” and “sorry”. In corporate, you just get “are you done yet”.

@diji 😥
