My most popular blog post continues to be about Mastodon Preview Cards generation.

I've updated it to include a few more tidbits:

The image attached to the link must be less than 2 MB in size (the default config from Mastodon) or the image won't be used.

Once a Masotodn server has generated a link preview (image attached or not), it's cached for 14 days before it will attempt to refresh it. This one needs some testing.

@box464 I find that providing a <meta og:image > and a <meta name="description" > (as well as <title> obviously) works fine?

@rimu Yep! In general for your normal old image / link to news article that works dandy.

It's more about - how does Mastodon decide to do fancy things like show PeerTube or Internet Archive embeds like this (you can only see this from the official Mastodon app or website tho)
