As someone who started with the family 386 in 1989, I have to marvel sometimes at what we have with Linux today.
In the early 90s the choice was: pay for Windows or pirate it. Linux existed (barely) but was not exactly a daily driver for a high school kid.
Now not only do we have everything an individual could possibly need but also arguably everything a small company probably needs, in an almost limitless OS, all available free of cost.
@fossrob it is nuts man how much we have advanced. I just changed laptops and it was like I didn't skip a beat. Everything is easy to install, data synced, OS just works, browsers just work. Just changing a browser on your laptop used to be a pain.
@fossrob I am hoping the arrogance being shown by Apple and Microsoft will help open to door to more people trying Linux, especially on perfectly good hardware being made artificially obsolete. #linux

Not only is it proof of our ability to work together for no other reason than advancing but also that we don‘t need billionaire guidance to build great things.
