I haven't used #Xitter since they implemented them, but #CommunityNotes seem like a really good idea. we could basically have that if all replies here functioned like reddit. threaded with up/down votes. no stars or boosts possible. imo #lemmy and #kbin should not be separate servers etc. no subreddits. hashtags instead. give us a sorting option when you click on one.
@wjmaggos Kbin supports hashtags. The integration with Mastodon involves adding a hashtag with the magazine's name and other additional hashtags added by users to threads/posts.

there's an axiom about how new media first recreates the old one, until it figures out what it can do better. the first TV shows were basically radio shows with people standing around. I feel like there's a huge element of that with fedi services vs the closed corporate platforms that inspired them. it's recreating Twitter & Reddit instead of taking the decentralized best advantage of both worlds.
@wjmaggos Yes, the Community Notes are one of the best things about the Site Formerly Known as Twitter these days. Apparently it was an initiative that predated Mr. Musk's purchase of the company.
