I'm having a hell of a day with Firefox today (and part of yesterday). Since 126.0 was released many websites make Firefox crash (for example opening images here in Mastodon but also a Grafana dashboard and others). All in Gnome with Wayland and Ubuntu 24.04. Are other people having the same issues?

@adelgado I've had no problems with 126.0 but I'm on 40 with & . IIRC this can happen when you did not close all instances of Firefox $previous_version. Try closing all Firefox windows and also make sure that there are no lingering instances ($ ps ax | grep firefox). Then start Firefox again and see if that helps.

@plaimbock I already did even reboots of the computer... removed all extensions, cleared all stored data

@adelgado The reboot should have fixed multiple instances. Maybe install it again? Or start it from a terminal to see what's going on?

@plaimbock not much info in the terminal, basically just generate a dump

@plaimbock I think I messed something up while installing other desktop managers and adjusting Wayland because all versions of Firefox crashed. So I did a fresh install of Ubuntu 24.04 (before I did an upgrade from 23.10 that was upgraded from 22 that is not a great idea). So now it's fix
