Random thought - so many new services (mastodon, lemmy, pixelfed, bookwyrm), where most will probably create a new account, and join the main instance.
Could we turn this around? Everyone starts their own one-person server somewhere (make it one-click), then connects to all services from there, sees and posts to all feeds in one interface, owning their data so it will never get lost.
Anyone working on that?

bob,

@magnusmanske That's called , and it's implemented in the world (for instance with )

@magnusmanske There are a) efforts to create a single-signon, universal fediverse id (don't have a link tho, just seen it talked about) b) there are numerous hosting co's that are working on one-click Fediverse instances, where if you're willing to pay, you can launch a single-user cluster of all the platforms. SpaceHost (atomicpoet's pet project) is one that is working on that.

@magnusmanske in terms of accessing all services in one place the nearest we get to that is Friendica and Hubziilla.

@magnusmanske I believe that Pixelfed now lets you sign in with your Mastodon account.
