When they make accusations like "the election was rigged", we should believe that they rigged the election. When they hide things, they are covering corruption.
@ProPublica yea this is the thing that I find the most insane about the US electoral system. It’s so obviously rigged and yet somehow unfixable. Hope you somehow switch to proportional voting soon!!
I can't believe in this day and age that hiding ANY "surprise" legislation inside other bills is still allowed. (As Texas did when a provision that closed off public access to internal redistricting records was slipped in without anyone noticing.) There's no excuse for that being an avenue for politicking when we have procedures and technology that could spot it before it's too late to question it. And of course I'm talking about both parties doing this to their advantage.
It's clear to me that gerrymandering is a form of fraud. What isn't clear is why it's considered a legal practice in the first place. In a democracy, this has no place.

@ProPublica how does this question get flipped? If the effect is provable (it is) then the map designers need to prove it wasn't illegal race based gerrymanders.
@ProPublica TN-05 was represented by a Democrat for over 100 years. And then TN's Republican Supermajority decided to redraw the lines and kneecap the liberal Davidson County.
