I got these 2 games from the 2ndhand market. Blue Reflection was an impulse buy, but there's so few people selling #jrpgs here that I decided to grab it. It has terrible reviews! I haven't even once seen a good review of it, but I like to collect #koeitecmo games. Tokyo Mirage is an exclusive and a crossover of #shinmegamitensei and #fireemblem. Couldn't pass the opportunity to get it, but I haven't seen a lot of love for it either. #videogames#nintendoswitch#atlus

The smaller RPGs tend to be notorious for getting really shitty reviews.
Not talking about bad scores, but terrible takes from people you really shouldn’t be listening to.
Started noticing a lot of hate towards Persona as well. People like that calling Reload a “game ruining remake”.
I had to do a double take on that one.
Here’s someone I trust when it comes to niche RPGs:

I think I've made a nice impulse-buy ☺️ Yes, I have to check the groups I'm in and some channels I've been watching. They're mostly positive, but some games get harsh criticism for sure. Fortunately, I haven't seen those takes about P3R. It doesn't make any sense.

It really doesn’t.
All I can think of is that now that Persona is starting to get more widespread popularity, certain individuals feel the need to rail against it for not being the special little club anymore.
That’s why channels like RPG Jungle are do great.
I first discovered het channel thanks to the Atelier videos as it was really hard to find positive videos on the series before Ryza cracked open the more casual market for the series.
Sure, I love discovering brand new things. Always have. The days of importing PSone games that I found on the old Japanese listings site by going off of tiny screenshots and falling in love with Ore no Ryouri, Chippoke Ralph or Kyuuin before any western sites mentioned them or even knew about them was a ton of fun.
But what was even better was sharing these “discoveries” with others and helping them import them as well.

These days as well. I love seeing series blossom. Atelier, Monster Hunter, Earth Defense Force, Yakuza, etc.
They all have grown so much in popularity over the past decade and I love it.
Hopefully Gundam Breaker 4 can do that as well this year.
And I still feel bad about incredible games that didn’t get the chance.

@OutofPrintArchive@helligbird yeah that's why I'm always banging on about certain games that I really like, I want other people to play them! Then if they're successful they'll hopefully make more... Hopefully I can convince other people to take a chance on a game that I think they'll like
