I think the next step in my #degoogle effort is starting to take direction. I've been looking at various #email options and I'm leaning towards #Zoho mail. They have the privacy/security stuff you would expect, but also seem to have all of the stuff I'm looking for to handle multiple addresses from multiple domains in one place. And cheap!
@brian I highly recommend zoho! Been using them for years. They are great for business too with your own domain. I have degoogled in nearly every way except for 1 gmail account for a spam trap, and youtube.... waiting for the good producers to finally wake up. If you haven't seen it yet, use Firefox with the NoScript plugin. It blocks all the G scripts almost EVERY site uses.

FWIW, I ended up with Fastmail. I contacts support to ask some questions and confirm that they could do some of the specific requirements I needed, and the reply was very prompt, thorough, and helpful. Plus a 20% discount. Add that to the discount you get when you buy 3 years at a time, and it ended up being very affordable. Plus I really liked their DNS hosting features and ended up moving my nameservers for 4 domains over there.

I think Fastmail is testing new domain registration, but yes, you can’t transfer existing.
It probably isn’t popular, but the honest answer is that my domains are at GoDaddy. I’ve had stuff there for over 20 years…inertia is a heck of a variable.
As I’ve been looking around, I keep coming back to Namecheap and Porkbun as likely landing spots. Do you have a recommendation?

Fastmail was on my shortlist. I wasn’t ever really able to figure out how many different domain names and addresses I could attach & manage from one account. I want all of the email to end up in one inbox and then, when I reply, have the From/Reply To address automatically be set to the right address.
Do you have multiple domains & addresses in your setup? I suspect you might. Does it intelligently handle & adjust the From address when you reply?

I emailed Fastmail support and the response I got was super friendly, thorough, quick, and helpful. They confirmed that they can do all the tricks that I’m looking for. Thanks very much for the tip.
