@atomicpoet The one game from around that era I remember was Escape Velocity. Loved it, but I don’t recall ever getting good at it.

So I had to play Drag Her! – the drag queen fighting game.

The whole concept it too irresistible.

I don’t typically care about drag queen stuff. I’ve never watched Ru Paul’s Drag Race ever. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I realize drag queens have been a thing across many cultures – it is an art form. I’ve just never paid attention.

But a fighting game? Yeah, I’m totally on board. And I’m glad I tried Drag Her!

Because this game is absolutely hilarious. I have not laughed so hard while playing a video game in a long, long time. Whoever made this deserves an award because I was bowled over laughing.

The moves are over-the-top. One of the drag queens hits another over the head with a bloody trashcan! Another has this special move where there’s a Sailor Moon-esque animation – then she brings out this humongous lipstick bazooka.

Then when you get knocked out, the narrator yells “K-Ho!” It’s the little touches like that which give this game so much charm.

There’s no single player arcade mode or campaign. If you want to play this, it must be co-op. Thankfully, there’s both local and online co-op modes available and I had no trouble finding an opponent.

I have no idea who the developer is, but it looks like this is Fighting Chance Games’ first release. I look forward to what the deliver next because Drag Her! is definitely memorable.

Should I do it again?

I saw a Braun political ad where he says he will defend the border while riding on a state police boat.

Is he going to keep Kentuckians out of Indiana by patrolling the mighty Ohio? Scare Illinois boaters on the Wabash?

Incredibly often, it seems that Safari fails to load a website. It happens both on my Mac and iPhone and has been happening for a long time. I think this has to do with my WiFi, but I fail to see anything unusual in my Ubiquiti setup.

Anyone seeing similar issues with Safari, or is this some issue in my Internet setup?

(Yes, I've tried disabling all extensions)

leopardboy,
@leopardboy@netmonkey.xyz avatar

@simonbs The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is that if your upstream bandwidth is fully consumed, it'll slow down your downloads because TCP ACK's will take longer to transmit.

That's just a guess. Your router may be configured to avoid congestion issues like that, but I haven't touched Ubiquiti equipment in six years, and I've forgotten most of it.

I don't get developers weird obsession with making their language a personality trait

like who cares? it's all quarks and shit when you think about it

you aren't cool for shitting on other languages, maybe go to a party, start doing drugs or get a plant or something

jeez

I’m convinced most ideology is just aesthetic window-dressing.

For example, in my lifetime, I’ve seen conservatives go from being pro-free trade to anti-free trade; from being pro-globalization to anti-globalization.

They did a 180 degree change. Only the presentation has remained the same.

leopardboy,

@atomicpoet One of the best things I ever learned in college was in Political Science 101 when the professor said that the number one job of every politician is to get reelected.

So I don’t really think that politicians believe everything they actually say, but they will say it, anyway, in order to keep their jobs.

Keep in mind, in the USA at least, that a lot of them are lawyers and good lawyers will make a great argument regardless of their beliefs because they’re getting paid to do so.

“If You Got It Flaunt It” is my favourite disco song of all time.

Donna Summer is at her sensual best. She commands attention. When you hear this, she really feels like a queen.

But this hits all the right notes. That snare drum is tasty. That octave switching bass is funky as hell. And those horns are downright celebratory.

Incredibly catchy tune!
