The European Commission has sent formal requests for information to YouTube and TikTok on the firms' child protection obligations. Commissioner Thierry Breton had said that child protection is an "enforcement priority."
The move comes as the EU works to rein in tech giants after the passing of the Digital Services Act (DSA), which came into effect in August.
