Cope and seethe

They don't know how to cope, but I know how to celebrate! It won't necessarily stop him from running but it does take a lot of wind out of his sails. Biden is right about one thing in particular: "There’s only one way to keep Donald Trump out of the Oval Office: At the ballot box,"

Holy fucking shit, Google

Wow, that first option suggested from Reddit; Google and other LLM shills said that LLMs would improve the human condition. Clearly between suggesting eating one small rock a day and suggesting a final solution over better ones like sleeping more. LLMs are too flawed for active use, developers need to take these tools back into the lab and isolate them for a long time.

It represents a callous, inhumane desire to beat everyone in a tech race without consideration for how their LLM tech affects real users. It's infuriating that there are no brakes in this race, no oversight committee to slap a 'not ready for human usage' sticker on this shit. 🤬

I hope your op ed reaches enough people to get them interested in stopping the techbro LLM race.

I can do that, it would be easy enough later on tonight!

I couldn't imagine it myself as I tend to play in single-player mode. It gives me time to read, react, and puzzle out how to approach a specific encounter. With other people involved, I feel that there would be a pressure to advance forward and not take in every moment in my own time. Little segments of play would be manageable potentially especially if a few of the players have a better situation awareness than I; helping me overcome challenges that would have taken me a long time to figure out.

It's such a pretty game with an enthralling story, one of the few that I truly paw/pore over like it's a masterpiece because BG3 is in my opinion. The writing, mood, character interactions and personalities are rich. My Tav is a Druid, who will be rebuilt to focus mostly on Spellcasting, perception checks, and crowd control! I was playing as a shapeshifting badass who waded into the battlefield, abandoning reason, and becoming a primal force of nature. However, I find that focusing on buffing and other spells is a better use of my Druid's time. As I have plenty of combat-oriented builds for my companions.

Oh joy, I sure hope they make this opt-in instead of opt-out! Otherwise, the European Government is going to have a field day with this; I sure wish the American Government was as concerned about its citizen's privacy!

ROFL An interesting take, I do agree with it overall. The Fediverse has been a lot friendlier (with very few exceptions) in comparison to the assholes on other platforms. People are more willing to hear you out first if you misspoke and acknowledge that in a reply. It's social media that feels better without the mental bender that one can have after too many hits of X or Facebook in a day.

Honest question out of curiosity: What's with mushrooms being so popular? Everywhere I turn people are talking about gathering them, or growing them, or cooking with them, etc. Sure, they've always been around, but it's kind of weird. It seems to be a hobby now that other foods aren't.

    WanderingPoltergeist,
    WanderingPoltergeist avatar

I feel like people are getting back into foraging for food in general these days...Mushrooms are an easy gateway into the activity! It keeps you active, thinking (in regard to identification tests for mushrooms), and it is a community that people can use to make friends. There is the aspect of finding those shrooms which can get you hallucinating safely; I feel like people enjoy the taste of fungus they either raised or foraged personally more than store bought.

Have y'all ever had someone act like you were hurting them somehow by just liking a food?

Any time I buy or make kimchi, my Mom says it's so gross and she doesn't want any and just on and on. I never offer it to her, or make group food with it, but for some reason she seems offended by it, and I don't know why.

    WanderingPoltergeist,
    WanderingPoltergeist avatar

I have occasionally and as a teen...Acted like the same person you described until I understood how to keep my dislike separate from discussions around food. Unless someone is offering me a food I dislike or asking me if I like it, I tend to keep that opinion to myself. Answering as neutrally as possible, because their love for a particular food doesn't have a real impact on me. As for Kimchi, I love that it's a flexible recipe which can be custom tailored to one's personal taste. I tend to like it sans carrots. Kimchi is great in soups, on rice, and a bonus ingredient in curry.

Exactly, I don't want to rob someone of their joy when it comes to favorite foods; there is enough out there that can suck the joy and love out of a person's life!

I've gotten back into Cyberpunk 2077; This game went from a disaster to becoming the version which should have been released! So many systems reworked, being able to ride the Metro in cinematic style, and the new story of Phantom Liberty makes this game great. It's still disappointing that the pool of romanceable characters is so small, with only one gay man in the entire line up. At least the other parts of Cyberpunk 2077 are so much stronger, like the lore about the Cyberpunk universe; talking about the game makes me want to continue my Phantom Liberty play session!

    WanderingPoltergeist,
    WanderingPoltergeist avatar

Overall, I find the full version of Cyberpunk 2077 a hell of a lot more satisfying than when it initially released in a broken state! If you are playing on Xbox Series S or X, there are occasional crashes but autosaving mostly makes it so only a few seconds to minutes is lost. As for the PC version, I cannot say what state Cyberpunk 2077 is on Steam/GOG. I agree that it's better to work on the games you have ahead in your to be played queue!

    WanderingPoltergeist,
    WanderingPoltergeist avatar

You certainly live up to your username. ROFL Shilling for a corporation is a move which is never in one's best interest! We should always speak honestly about games and the corpos who made said games. Cyberpunk 2077 will never be the release trailer, as game trailers have a history of being dishonest. It certainly wasn't at launch because Cyberpunk 2077 was a broken fucking mess. The dev team did try their best to make good on some of the promises, but not all of them. I do speak honestly that I do enjoy Cyberpunk 2077 in its current state, but I also acknowledge that it wasn't the game we were originally promised.

    WanderingPoltergeist,
    WanderingPoltergeist avatar

If they would have released this current version instead of the shitty release that we got at first...That would've been better in my opinion and I could've easily lived with a stable, fun game. We never were going to get a 1 to 1 trailer version of Cyberpunk 2077; I made peace with that after learning the misleading nature of trailers in general long ago (personally find trailers should be honest). It's close but not 100% there.

As for my enjoyment being taken away, you couldn't have if you tried! It was just a strongly worded response to my own post. You didn't do what most people would do and devolve into slurs or other demeaning statements used on those who have contrasting opinions.

    WanderingPoltergeist,
    WanderingPoltergeist avatar

PC seems to have gotten a better deal in that regard it seems! I do wish they would address the console issue of occasional crashes though, but I am happy you are having an smooth game experience.
