@ben Oh really? I know they're federating the work people publish, but are they building a feed reader? I had interpreted their announcement as them taking the same approach as WordPress.
A fun exercise for newsrooms would be to go look up what the people exhorting them to embrace LLMs had to say about Facebook’s Instant Articles and pivot to video debacles at the time. And calibrate accordingly.
@kissane There was a section I cut for length from the thing I wrote today that brought the receipts, almost entirely from Nieman Lab predictions. Maybe it should be its own thing.
@ben I did the same search for myself and it autocorrected to Tyler Fischer (who is an awful right-wing comedian). No way, as far as I can tell, to say "no, I meant Fisher". Love the future where I'm invisible!
@ben That guy is on the Ben Shapiro track and if he gets any bigger I might seriously have to consider a name change, especially in this reality where I can't trust that anyone can disambiguate me from a transphobe with a similar name.
I posted this at work and a bunch of staffers changed their email habits because of it. So, my three golden rules of email (with much due credit to Merlin Mann):
At some point you have to declare bankruptcy. Just archive everything to start. Anything important will come back to you in the form of a follow-up.
If it's archived, you can search for it whenever you want. I archive everything indiscriminately. Don't think, just archive.
