I'm currently installing Q4OS, which offers @tde (the maintained and updated KDE 3 fork) as a default option. Messed around in the live environment for a bit, and it seems the TDE developers are not joking around here - this truly seems to be KDE 3 brought to the modern age.

Of course, I'll need more time to form a more informed opinion, but TDE clearly is a serious effort. Such an amazing vindication of open source.
