Here is an interesting one, building my xml converter tool on mac using g++ displays all errors and warnings by default, on my ubuntu 24.04 box, it doesn't show a thing and seems as all has gone through without errors.
adding -v shows a little, but not as detailed as the errors on my mac. (See screenshot)
Any tips as how to get my linux box to show me more details?
Mowing the lawn, listening to music. Song ends, suddenly hear bells ringing, very rhythmic, thinking nice, Hells Bells has come up!
Different song starts playing, taking out the ear phones, realising it's actual church bells I am hearing.
Taking out phone, playing Hells Bells anyway 🤷♂️
@greenpete I actually saw them live 2009 or 2010, don’t remember exactly, when they came to Austria. Was a brilliant show, started of with a hail storm and a flash hitting somewhere behind the stage, 100k black leather jacket turning into umbrellas and Brain Johnson stepping on the stage, telling us he knew the weather was shit, but we shouldn’t mind, they would be making up for it
@fedops More a remnant of the old one, did it out of interest. But now that I am approved, I can always start working in that field, as long as cars aren’t banned anyway
Going to a seminar in Salzburg today, 3,5h drive. I could either get in the car, or get on a train, be there quicker and use the time productive on my laptop, hm 🤔
@jonasgeiler Ironically I had to go to Salzburg for the first part of the exams to becoming a driving instructor.
But yeah, especially on longer drives I do prefer the train, much more comfortable and it doesn't matter if you are tired on the way back
Going to have to find a new place for a maple that decided to grow in my garden, where it sits now its roots will cause damage. I do want it somewhere I can see it…
Having spent some time creating a smart home around homeassistant, I naturally placed a couple of sensors around the house and the garden. The Gardena Soil sensor must be one of the worst yet. Without watering and in bright sun light the soil humidity went up 10% today, while it registers the soild temp at 49°C now while the air is around 20°C. Not even the wintergarden goes up that high, it is at 36°C.
That thing is useless
However, if the xml you are trying to parse is malformed, it doesn't matter how nice the code is, you are starting to pull out hair...
Shutting off for today, going back to being a sales person tomorrow and give it another try on Saturday before I throw my PC out of the window....
@greenpete Because the m1 series MacBook Air does not support more than one external monitor for some reason. The M3 does now, but only if the notebook is closed...
