tip of the day: to replace text wrapping around some other, you can use regex groups and backreferences like this:

:%s/some(.*)text/other\1string/gc

That is 1 good interview with @Mer__edith at #zib2 / ORF pointing out all the perils and side effects, wrong assumptions and promises of giving up #privacy in exchange for more security.

Also: the risk of putting ourselves into full dependency of tech giants. There is a notion that #AI - which resources are controlled by a few companies - will spread so widely and quickly that no one can prevent it. This is dangerous, stupid and not even necessary.

We use self-closing syntax in HTML where it doesn't do anything. People see it and assume it does something.

@jaffathecake it's more explicit, which is good and would theoretically be easier to parse except parsers cannot really on it because HTML is so forgiving and people exploiting that.

For all its faults, as a blogger I miss when everyone was hanging out on Twitter. It was much more likely for people reading one’s stuff. Now we’re losing even Reddit. In the end only algorithmic content like video and SEO-optimized Google fodder are surviving. Niche content that doesn’t work on HN just doesn’t find its audience anymore which leads to fewer articles written, …

Case in point: my best performing article is how to fix an error everyone is googling and it took me 15 mins to write.

In current versions of yarn you need to ship the binary with the project. This is totally cringe.
