"An Allegory of Love"
Painted for the Above All Else zine, a zine dedicated to celebrating Izzy.

My submission statement:
his piece is a paraphrase of the painting La Liberté by Nanine Vallain, a painting full of symbols and allegories. To me, Izzy can be read in much the same way, appearing in one way on the surface (that is, angry), but beneath that, the violence and ferocity is his way of expressing loyalty, ambition, and at the heart of it, love.

I started this in 2020, I think right around the time when Rosario Dawson was announced to play Ahsoka. I almost finished it, and then lost interest and abandoned it for three years lmao. After watching the newest episode of Ahsoka, I felt compelled to finish it.
A few differences from her in the show - she's got longer montrals and lekkus here because I always loved the way older Togruta look, and I gave her back her akul teeth. She earned those.

So, a few years ago, a post was going around (on Tumblr I think), where someone stated that the linguistic root of "Cerberus" translates to "Spot" or somesuch and painted a cute scenario in which Hades named the dread dog of Hell Spot.

I was absolutely infatuated with the idea and painted this - only once I'd finished it did I think to google the Cerberus = Spot thing and immediately figured out that it isn't true 🤣 still, here's some puppy Cerberus!
