Using Proton Drive as a backup storage location with Rclone

I started using Proton as my default email service provider in 2022. I’ve more than 500Gb storage there available including a service called Proton Drive for file storage. This is quite a lot for just email. So I asked myself, how can I use the other amount of space as an extra backup storage solution?

@jorijn PixelFed could be a serious killer platform, I already mentioned it a couple of times on my blog. Don't know how good the software now works, but I must be ready for a massive influx of new members and scale with it. The backend in written in PHP / Laravel so I'm curious how it would scale. Already did some testing quite a while ago with @sebastianhagens :)

It makes me wonder, it there an app/service yet where you can register a (fediverse) account/identifier which is interoperable with all the activitypub supported clients? Is this a specification within the AT protocol?
This works within the Nostr protocol (with a private key for now) for example and is really game-changing for me.
