Proton have got me in a weird spot currently. Because I joined Pass Plus early on, I've got a $1/mo lifetime plan there. However, if I wanted to upgrade to Proton Unlimited, it would (I believe) remove my entitlement to my $1/mo Pass Plus subscription should I ever decide to downgrade from Proton Unlimited. This is a key reason why I have yet to buy unlimited.

So there's a @protonmail drive app for Windows now, and one in the works for MacOS, but are they ever going to release a Linux one?

There isn't really any chance of me using it without a Linux client, but if they did drop one then I'd definitely see how it compared to the (admittedly shaky) Nextcloud app.

I'm actually really disappointed with @protonmail right now.

I have their new Pass Plus plan (€1/month) and I want to also get their Mail Plus plan (€4/mo).

Pass Plus is a competitive price and Mail Plus is a bit overpriced, but I'm willing to pay it.

However, they won't let me have a subscription to Pass Plus and Mail Plus at the same time. Instead, they're insisting I buy Proton Unlimited, €10/month, with a ton of things I just wouldn't use.

Not impressed at all.

@protonmail Do you offer any option for a family plan that only includes a mail plan for each member?

Interested in getting a plan where each family member can have a mailbox hosted on Proton, but don't need any of the other features.

@fedora I've been enjoying the experience so far, everyone has been friendly and welcoming.

It will probably take me a while to learn the ropes and get a feel for where I'm most effective so I might move around and try a few more teams out to see how I get on there.

Is @fedora controlled by the community or by Red Hat? I know Red Hat is heavily involved as it is upstream from RHEL but I'm unclear as to what the extent is.

#drm is a double edged sword.

I understand why content creators need it to protect their IP.

But I also understand how users are harmed by it and it can ultimately lead to poor preservation of digital artifacts.

Is there some kind of feasible halfway point that can satisfy both sides of the argument more than the current status quo? I don't know.
