  • reuvenim,

@decryption Is Volkswagen even dreaming of bringing electric cars down under?

Whenever I read about research relating to the effects of salt, I can’t help but wonder why the Japanese seem to be living so well into elderly ages (let’s face it, much better than the west) given how much soy sauce they’re consuming https://www.theguardian.com/science/2023/aug/27/salt-free-diet-reduce-risk-heart-problems-20-per-cent

  • reuvenim,

@decryption Wow, I genuinely did not know Flight Control was made in Melbourne. All the more reason to despise EA.

    reuvenim,

@decryption I've been hoping Apple Arcade would revive it, but given the EA link and how hopeless they are, I decided I'd better give up

    reuvenim,

@decryption Where did you get that Flight Control pin from? I so miss this game

@decryption It's supposed to let me choose songs from Apple Music, but it hardly ever works and just defaults to the default tone (which I totally hate to wake up to)

I call bullshit: bring those excess stock Volkswagen electric cars to Australia, and they’ll sell in 2 seconds. But no, car manufacturers will not ruin the market where they can dump their most polluting cars https://stocks.apple.com/AX_mJt1H5TuyS4ulppVIJmw

I need to wear a suit soon and I don’t have a suit that fits me well and I don’t want to buy a suit 😤😤😤😤😤😤😤

    reuvenim,

@daniel I more or less decided I'm never buying one of those "suit" things again. I have no idea what I'd do at the next wedding/funeral/insert event here. But I think I'd still prefer that uncomfortable feeling over the stupidity feeling of buying a suit.

And Apple now wants $20 a month for this?

    reuvenim,

@decryption True. Most of the Australian contents comes courtesy of Murdoch, for a start.

I honestly thought CEOs would jump at the opportunity to cut real estate costs, but instead it looks like they're more interested in cutting down notions that they were fools to spend so much on unnecessary real estate https://stocks.apple.com/A-DzfQVM-SmikfOTvgFAcEg

Do we accept a standard where we have to individually manage each of our websites in order to have them block each individual AI engine from using them for AI learning (but only in the future, because no one cared about us till now), and then hope that those AI engines actually comply (because it doesn't look like Google, for a start, intends to)? https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2023/08/openai-details-how-to-keep-chatgpt-from-gobbling-up-website-data/

    I wonder:

    1. How Apple's iMessage will manage this legislation. I assume Apple won't let Britons go green?
    2. How long before the same dumb legislation pops up in Australia, the country first to declare its freedom from the laws of mathematics.

Now that even Apple Arcade is publishing games that track their users (have a look at the linked game’s Privacy Report), I’m looking forward to Apple starting to promote apps and games that do no track the hell out of their users https://apps.apple.com/au/app/summer-pop/id6450008544
