@cowardlylionel@Lazarou@ElleGray I agree, this is wishful thinking. The fact that a lot of it was crap recently means nothing to a tech that improves exponentially.
Aside from which, does no one see anything wrong with asking a text generator to finish a building? The premise is daft.
Robots were building cars decades ago, so it won't be long before they build large buildings from 3D printed parts (which is already a way to make small homes now).
While its good to see that books still hold their own (in revenue generating terms) with films & music (they outperform both), the big news is that video games generated more revenue globally than books & music combined.
As someone who has never played a video game, but reads a lot of books, I'm not sure how I feel about this... but it tells us something about where the globe's creative & receptive energies seem to be spent.
@ChrisMayLA6@bookstodon A good video game can actually include all the elements of books, films and music and be an immersive experience.
You can have great and original storylines, or great derivatives and/or sequels, great visuals and great soundtracks.
A band I used to follow I believe iirc made more from a song of theirs that got used in a popular video game, than the rest of their repertoire combined.
Whilst the polling is generally encouraging for Labour in Scotland, the last YouGov poll was 6 months ago and showed Labour further ahead than the latest poll - suggesting that YouGov actually has them going backwards, if still ahead.
@Indyposterboy@IndyRichard I was looking at this because of someone asserting that Scottish MPs could just leave Wm and render it impotent in regard to legislating for Scotland (inconclusive/unlikely).
International law would no longer regard the articles of union as a current treaty as the two parties, as states, ceased to exist on implementation. The treaty was "spent" on "Execution".
The articles in UK law have largely been repealed/replaced by subsequent acts of UK Parly.
I often see Bandcamp release with just a single track in it. I tend to skip those, as I like to get albums, and a chunk of music at once, instead of having to download/organize a bunch of single releases.
@n3wjack Single track releases may turn into albums. You have no idea whether the artist is dipping their toe with their music or not and seeing the response to a track. Are you even listening to the music that you're dismissing as inconvenient to you?
BTW, I'm old enough to remember not having a choice: it was between singles or nothing. Singles at least until albums appeared, if they appeared at all.

Radio Jammor offers a variety of station merchandise in the form of mugs, coasters, mouse mats, tee-shirts, sweatshirts, key-rings & more, with set-designs or using any of our social media stock images.
We worry about providing Universal Basic Income because people might stop working, but here's a thought: maybe, just maybe, with a little financial security, people might actually pursue work they truly choose rather than work to just not die. Imagine that world for a moment.
"Costs more per person, short term. Costs less long-term as it actually solves the problem and thus doesn’t require and infinite firehouse of money lasting forever into the future."
DUH, these bureacracies are what we have now, and you are still advocating starvation to people who fall outside your parameters, which are set by Gov, which depends on its politics.
Do you know the stats for people the UK Gov have killed with your methodology?
@freemo@scottsantens BS. When are you going to get it through your head that isn't enough work and jobs are disappearing and vacancies are oversubscribed? Qualifications don't help if there's no job to go into.
And some people prefer their own businesses. UBI enables that.
"If thats what you need then thats why I include psychiatry int he list of things that one may need to do instead of job training. if a licensed therapist says you need it I dont mind that help being provided, but its too easilya bused otherwise."
Right there, you provide conditions for your welfare, which are unacceptable.
What do you do if an individual says "I need rest"? How can the therapist determine that? WHY SHOULD SOMEONE NEED PERMISSION?
